Rack Room Shoes – Should You Order Online?
I had a bad experience ordering online from Rack Room Shoes. I’ll probably not order from them again. I did get a good deal with the latest BOGO 50% off, especially because the buy one pair was already on sale, making the half-off pair and even sweeter deal. In all, I ordered four pairs of shoes.
Two pair arrived yesterday. Just received an email that another pair was shipped last night. Still waiting word on the fourth pair. That’s annoying, but I understand they have to source them from different warehouses if one place is out of stock. Is that efficient for them? I don’t see how they can sustain that business model. I got free shipping, but they have to pay for shipping three times in this case.
My main issue is one of the pairs I received, wait for it… wait for it… had two left feet.
Here’s another thing I have discovered about Rack Room Shoes, no free return shipping. Now I could probably press the issue and contact them and make them pay for return shipping, but I’m going to wait until I get the rest of my order to see how that pans out. Fortunately there is a Rack Room store at the outlet shopping center about 10 miles from here, but still.
Will I order from Rack Room again? Probably not due to the fact that return shipping is not free. I am also finding out that two pairs are still in transit and scheduled for delivery Aug 7th and the other Aug 8th. For reals? I placed that order July 28th.
I’ll continue ordering shoes from Zappos, instead. Ideally you want to try shoes on before you buy them, but with unlimited free returns as Zappos, it makes shopping online for shoes easy. I’ve ordered from Zappos several times and have never had any problems.
