Knit this easy, cozy cardigan with Lion Brand Lion’s Pride Woolspun Yarn. It’s a category 5 yarn with lots of bounce and spring that drapes beautifully. I really enjoy working with it. Get the free pattern here:  Level 2 – Easy Knit Cardigan Pattern Download

I have ignored this particular pattern for a long time because I thought it was a brioche stitch. I love the look, loft and thickness of brioche, however, brioche a bear to fix if you’re knitting along and realize you made a mistake several rows ago. I have completely given up on any pattern that uses it.

However, this Easy Knit Cardigan pattern has a similar look of brioche without all the hassle. The body of the cardigan is k1 p1 on the right side, but the wrong side is purled, hence the broken rib pattern which gives it its loft. It’s pure genius. It wish I had actually checked the pattern out before casting judgement. I also like the way the sleeves fit into the right angle notches of the body. It’s like a dropped shoulder/set-in sleeve without the hassle of curves and ragged decreases. The easy stitching and genius construction makes this cardigan a joy to knit.

The image looks like she has a scarf around her neck, but it’s actually the left and right edges of the cardigan knit in a coordinating color. Same for the cuffs. If I ever get around to making this, I’ll do it all in one color.
