Kohl’s No More Product Reviews
I don’t know when Kohl’s decided to remove reviews from their website, but I noticed it within the last month. First, I clicked on the Reviews link and it went no where. On my next shopping trip, the Reviews link had completely disappeared. Why? Were too many negative reviews about inferior products cutting into sales? Stop carrying inferior, over-priced products. Problem solved. Or, perhaps they didn’t want to pay staff to moderate the sometimes very blunt, but honest opinions of their customers. I can separate the subjective from the objective on my own.
I absolutely read the reviews before purchasing a product. I want to know if clothing runs small, or is prone to shrinking. I want to know if that expensive non-stick cookware peels off into the food after a few months. If a review for clothing is positive and I like the style and price, I will buy multiples in several colors. Reviews are helpful to me.
Case in point, those long sleeve open front cardigans that cover all the waistline bulges and hips very nicely. Everyone loved them. They keep the chill of in an air-conditioned office. They’re casual, yet classy at the same time. They can be worn with office attire, jeans or leggings. I own about 10 of them, all in different colors. Or the summer knit tank dresses were another customer favorite. I bought several new ones each year for years. Everyone loved them. Now they no longer have them. Instead, they only have some shrinkable challis smocked version that shrinks. How do I know that? Because I know how fabric behaves, but others may not. Now we’ll never know because the reviews are gone.
Kohl’s, bring back the product reviews. Hopefully you’re just doing an upgrade to the review system and they’ll come back better than before.
